Real Life Fairy Tale
And they say you cant find love in a bar...
I was going out for girls night to a club in Norfolk for some much needed dancing, Stephen was going out to celebrate his birthday. I walked in with my girls and one of my friends, Stephanie, noticed her friend Nicole standing by the bar. We asked the guy Nicole was standing with, to take our picture and he did like a total trooper. We went our separate ways and I mentioned to Stephanie that Nicole's guy friend was very handsome in his blazer and tie, so she suggested that we go introduce ourselves since he was the birthday boy. Thanks to Stephanie's prompting we went over and said hello, Stephen and I ended up hitting it off and exchanged numbers but didnt bump into each other again for the rest of the night. Two days later I still hadnt heard from Stephen, so I decided to take matters into my own hands and remembering that that day was his actual birthday I shot him a text wishing him a Happy Birthday. He called me right after and asked me out for the following weekend. I had to decline because I was leaving for New York, so he asked me out for the night before I left. We had the most amazing first date and said our goodbyes that night thinking I wouldnt see him again until after Christmas. The next day as luck would have my flight to NYC was canceled due to snow, and Stephen showed up that night to cheer me up. We've been in love ever since.
Fast forward a year and a half...
I was out running errands after a long day at work, and Stephen had called to see what time I would be home because he was making dinner. I arrived home and was looking for Stephen in the kitchen but he wasnt there so I headed upstairs to our room. I opened the door and our whole room was filled with pink + silver + white balloons (Stephen knew I had always dreamed of a room full of helium balloons), my favorite flowers peonies, candles, and all my favorite foods on the bed. There he was on one knee, EEEKKK! He said the most beautiful things, and through big crocodile tears I was able to say YES to starting our life together! It was the most beautiful & perfect proposal!
